Concerning & Potentially Concerning Content

Almost nothing to be concerned about here. There are a couple of graphics to know about. The main character is bullied at the start. The main bad guy is also slightly frightening when first introduced. The book is short enough you could flip through and make sure it is something that won’t bother your child if this is a potential concern for you.

Our Thoughts

This very short book is the start of what looks to be a good, short, easy-reader option for those who like graphic novels. This may be particularly interesting for early/reluctant readers who will benefit from the “I finished a book!” accomplishment. The pictures in the updated edition (the one shown in the cover we included here) are particularly good and the middle of a book has a few places where you can flip back and forth to form simple “animation”. The story also has a nice element of friendship (between the main character and the robot).

Scripture Reflection

Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long. Your commands are always with me and make me wiser than my enemies. I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes. I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts. I have kept my feet from every evil path so that I might obey your word. I have not departed from your laws, for you yourself have taught me. How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path.

— Psalm 119:97-104
