Concerning & Potentially Concerning Content

There is some focus on common stereotypes that we want our kiddos to avoid (see the publisher’s summary below for an example). There are a couple instances of immoral behavior: a kid asks to copy someone else’s homework, there is some sneaking around and dishonestly, etc. The terms jerk and shut-up appear.

Our Thoughts

For those looking for a graphic novel that has only a small number of moral concerns that successfully keeps its target reader in mind, this may the book you are looking for. The illustrations are excellent. The story includes a focus on friendship, other cultures and a kindness to a family in need. A refreshing change to most graphic novels we have reviewed so far... one we Recommend for most readers.

Scripture Reflection

Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. Trouble pursues the sinner, but the righteous are rewarded with good things. A good person leaves an inheritance for their children's children, but a sinner's wealth is stored up for the righteous.

— Proverbs 13:20
